Subjects of the conference:
• 1. Concepts of mountology and mountains, tasks and problems of mountology, position of mountology in the system of sciences;
• 2. Modern state of mountology’s objects in Russia and abroad;
• 3. Methods of mountological researches - ways of obtaining information and its’ use for evaluation of systems’ condition;
• 4. Historical geography of mountainious lands as a key for understanding of mountology’s basics.
• 5. Prospects of development of the mountain systems in the modern variable world;
• 6. Theoretical and practical sense of mountology - complex science about origin, functioning and evolution of mountain systems as a compromise interaction of natural and socio-economic factors.

Official languages of the Conference are Russian and English.

Resume of report (up to 3 pages of computer text, font size 12, 1 interval) should be presented to Russian Geographical society (Russia, 190000, S.-Petersburg, pereulok Grivtsova, 10) not later than 1st of November 2001 (it will be checked by the post office stamp). Messages coming later will not be taken into consideration. Reports on public subjects will not be welcomed. Resume of reports will be published if they are included into the programme of the conference and if their authors have payed organizational fee.

Organizational fee is 100 USD, it should be send to RGS, simultaneous with resume of report, to our Bank account:
